In 1982, after graduating from the School of Art and Design in New York, Myke Maldonado began to pursue a career in
comic book illustration. Slowly, paying his dues in the industry, Myke began his professional career in the comic book
industry in 1987, when he began to regularly receive work in black & white independent comics. Through Kevin Eastman,
now of Heavy Metal, he got “Flesh Wounds” — a 72 page book about tattooed people and the attitudes
they encounter from an untattooed world — published. He has also self-published “Venus’ Passage”,
a book of tattoo-inspired art.
Although he is out of the comic industry, Myke still enjoys drawing and creating stories. He keeps developing new series
ideas and thinks often of the world he left behind.
